WE CALL HIM ''SCOUT''
Adopted!
What an awesome dog! Look
close and you will notice he has
black eyelashes on one eye and
white lashes on the other eye!
He might as well big a large
breed and reminded us more of a
lab or a husky in his
temperament. But he is still
that nice small and conveniently
easy to transport size. Several
people commented that he must
have corgi and Chihuahua in his
mix. He is an all American dog
that is for sure. Loves fetch
and tug of war while not being
overly rambunctious nor
destructive. In fact he was in
his foster home this week
surprisingly calm, completely
non-destructive and even
housebroken. Scout slept quietly
through the night in a crate
though he really loved a chance
to share a snuggle under the
covers.
Now we were informed Scout
could be territorial and protect
toys, food or his spot on the
couch with a growl or a nip but
we never witnessed any such
incidences. We wonder if this
was due to the fact that we
already had dogs in the home
when Scout arrived and therefore
he was on their turf and claimed
nothing as his own and retreated
to another room with no fight
when our dog growled at him or
stole his chew toys back. So it
is possible he is better adopted
into a home where a dog already
lives. The other thing we found
with Scout is he loves men.
Contrary to most foster dogs,
this little guy choose the male
in our family and followed him
everywhere in and outdoors,
wanted to go on car rides in his
car and consistently picked his
lap on the couch or in front of
the computer. So he seems like a
mans dog though he was sweet
both with women and children
also.
He walks well without pulling
on the leash and loves a little
run or romping with other dogs.
He does have the habit of
chewing on the leash when no one
is looking so he needs his
walker to keep his attention and
distract him from this behavior
using positive incentives like
treats and praise. We as foster
parents want to honestly tell
any potential adopters that in
just a few short days Scout
quickly became our favorite
foster pup yet!
So take a chance on this
charming little boy and you will
be rewarded by the best little
buddy you could ever ask for.
This dog is love on 4 legs and
he really needs a forever home
to prove it.

“ BETTY PIE
” Adopted!
My name is Betty Pie and I am
a “sweetie pie”. I am basically
a shy bundle of love on four
legs but I desperately need a
forever home to prove it. You
see, I am timid in all the noise
and confusion here and need a
stable, consistent “mama” to
care for me so I can return the
favor with everlasting,
unconditional companionship. I
am one special girl and here are
just a few reasons to pick me
today:
I have the dear, calm
tender-heart of a big dog in a
conveniently compact and easily
transportable size. I even know
how to play fetch if you can
find me a good small size tennis
ball.
I am not a picky eater like
some little dogs my foster mom
has dealt with. I love baked
sweet potatoes, green beans and
steamed peas and took carrot
juice and flax oil mixed into my
dinner kibble.
I have a downy white coat
that is easy to keep clean and
doesn’t shed at all. I really
just need my little under eyes
wiped quickly with a damp cloth
once a day. I also look great in
dog shirts and am fun to dress
up!
I am not hyper, not bouncing
off the walls and was completely
easy and non-destructive in the
foster home I had for 5 days. I
am almost listless and stand
sometimes with a lost look on my
face not knowing where to lie
down and relax but I seemed
happier toward the end of the
week and just need time to come
out of my shell.
I love to be in your arms and
I have this precious,
heart-breaking way of holding on
to you with my grover-like arms
in a clingy hug. In fact,
whenever I am nervous or cry or
whimper, all you have to do is
pick me up and the warm embrace
comforts me immediately.
I am very gentle with kids
who love to pet me and I do
sometimes react defensively with
other dogs. I even remained calm
and non-reactive to cats that
approached me in an indoor home
setting.
I love going with you on car
rides and especially enjoy a
rolled down window to put my
nose to the breeze. I make great
company tagging along for
errands, going in with you if
the store is dog friendly (most
non-food places are these days)
and waiting patiently curled on
the car seat if I am not allowed
in.
I am housebroken and my
foster mom did not have to pick
up after me as long as I was
consistently taken out and
watched until I relieved myself
outdoors. Inside, being confined
to the same room as the family
was in, made it easy for me to
show signs of needing to be let
out.
Everywhere I go I put a smile
on peoples faces because I
remind them of a little lamb or
a goat and I love to give licky
kisses to whoever will let me. ·
I am super easy to please,
really all I want is to be fed
and held in your arms like a
baby.
I enjoy a leisurely outdoor
walk just be sure to fit me with
an extra soft padded
harness (like you can get at
‘Give a Dog a Bone on Kentucky
street in Petaluma) because my
neck seems to be sore as if I
have been yanked too hard by a
collar in my past. Do be patient
because when walked too fast I
cried and reared back a bit and
was helped along by a treat
dangled in front of me as a
reward and to let me know not to
be scared.
I had a bath this morning so
I could be all spiffy and
sweet-smelling and now I am all
ready to go home with you for
good!

"T I T O"
Adopted!
 Meet
Tito! Tito is your new best pal
in a super mini version. He is
an unconditional little love bug
in your world! He treasures
being held and clings on to you
with dear, tiny dog paws that
need you so much. At maybe 9 yrs
old, Tito is a puppy and an old
guy all at once. He is the
smallest dog we have ever
fostered and though we were
extremely careful in holding and
transporting this delicate
fellow, he proved surprisingly
hardy. He kept up on walks with
our other dog, running in the
cutest way as fast as his mini
legs could take him. He enjoyed
many strolls at Howarth park and
thoroughly enjoys the smells of
any ground you set him upon.
Tito was a good little eater,
too. With us he hastily devoured
plain baked chicken breast cut
up with organic baby food
carrots or green beans and a dab
of ground flax seed or cod liver
oil to keep him regular. He even
liked steamed peas and squash
and bites of soft pear once he
saw our own dog eat it.
Tito was housebroken upon
coming to us and was accident
free his entire stay, given we
were sure to take him out every
time he woke from one of his
constant naps. He was fine with
being let out to relieve himself
on his own in our small enclosed
yard as well. At our home Tito
slept the night quietly in a
small soft, fleece lined
carrier, but he liked even
better to doze off nestled in
the crook of a humans arm or
with his head laying on your
chest. We were informed that
Tito has a bit of a hole in his
skull, indeed he has a funny,
quirky look to him with the
tongue hanging out and all but
he ultimately won us over with
his endearingly sweet
personality. He was in a
nutshell just eager to please
and content with little more
than a cuddle. Apart from some
occasional labored breathing and
congestion he did not display
any real health problems, on the
contrary, he became quite
robust. He would prance around
trying to fend for himself with
miniature reindeer-like
qualities amongst the other dogs
he met.
Tito was a great companion
for running errands. He happily
went on our laps for car rides
which quickly lulled him to
sleep. He was such a convenient,
compact size, we could easily
take him in most any store where
we were shopping with no fuss.
He is silent and calm when put
in a little bag or doggie sling
for carrying. He seems to be
satisfied just to go along. All
Tito really ever needed was a
loving forever home and a tender
human to gently care for his
precious little self. We know
someone will love this wee soul
as much as we have and we thank
you for it.
